Dr. Asselin graduated from Laurentian University in Ontario
where he received an Honours (Cum Laude) Bachelor degree in Physical Health
and Education in 1999. During his undergraduate degree he was a member of
the varsity volleyball team and volunteered at a local hospital in the
prosthetics and orthotics division. His studies in Human Kinetics along with
his interests in health, fitness and athletics prompted him to apply to the
Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Between University and his
start at CMCC he decided to take a year off to travel. He traveled
throughout Western Canada and spent the winter season teaching Skiing at
Lake Louise in Alberta. Prior to his travel out West he spent some time in
Massachusetts studying at the Kripalu (Yoga & Health Institute) where he
received his certification in Kripalu Bodywork.
In 2000, he began his journey into the chiropractic profession. Throughout
this time he has spent numerous hours studying and acquiring additional
knowledge and skills in a variety of other but related manual therapies. He
is currently a Registered Trigenics Practitioner, a Certified Trigenics
Instructor, Credentialed level 2 Active Release Therapy Provider, Certified
Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Provider, Certified Kripalu Bodyworker,
Trager Level 1 Student (practitioners accreditation in progress), Pediatric
Fellow, Level II CSIA alpine ski instructor, and a Certified Strength &
Conditioning Specialist. Dr. Asselin graduated Cum Laude with clinic honors
from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in June 2004. He has also
received the 2004 Jurisprudence Graduate Award (2004).
In 2004, he started Synergy Health & Wellness Centre in Collingwood and is
now currently seeing patients in both his Collingwood, and Penetanguishene
locations.
Currently Dr. Asselin is pursuing a fellowship in Rehabilitation at the
Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. In the coming years Dr. Asselin
plans on pursuing a masters degree in both Rehabilitation Science and
Nutrition.
